About the Event

Learn how to make a handtied gift bouquet using the spiraling technique employed by all professional florists.

I will be teaching you the hand-tied method, demonstrating each step as we go. The spiraling technique is the basis of so many technical designs, that once mastered, it can be used for wedding work, table centers or for pretty gift bouquets to give away to friends. This workshop is suitable for all abilities, including those who have never handled flowers before and those that wish to perfect this technique. I'll talk you through flower variety suitability, conditioning of flowers and foliage, preperation for this technique, design suitability, cut flower longevity and preservation.

Each attendee will have a selection of English cottage garden flowers and foliage with which to make their own bouquet, which you will take away with you at the end of the workshop. There will be several choices of paper in which to wrap the bouquet and lots of colourful ribbon to tie it with. I will also show you how to package it in an aqua buble to ensure freshness.

Complimentary tea and coffee will be provided on arrival, with a break at a suitable point for more refreshement including locally handmade cakes.

There is plenty of free parking on site and toilet facilities.  Thyme After Time cafe is also situated at Spire Hill and serve tea, coffee and lunches.

The workshop is suitable for all abilities and all materials are included in the price.
