About the Event
This workshop is the first of a series of Wedding Worshops that I'll be holding throughout the spring, designed for the amateur flower arranger who wants to perfect skills in wedding work.Â
In this workshop you will learn how to create a professional wired buttonhole. The techniques I will teach you are used by all trained florists throughout the UK and beyond. Wiring is a skill that can be incorporated into so many floral designs and is used frequently in wedding floristry.Â
I'll discuss the advantages of using specific varieties for buttonholes, depending on the season and flower varieties to avoid. I will demonstrate each step of the process, including conditioning the flowers, different wiring techniques, two different types of binding and presentation, whilst assisting you to do the same. You will put together (under my supervision) two different styles of buttonholes and will learn how to wire different varieties of flowers and foliage.
All materials are included in the price, together with complimentarty tea, coffee and cake! There is free parking, loos and Thyme After Time Cafe on site, together with the French vintage brocante Oakland Collectibles and Simply Cooking who sell a wide range of farmhouse homecooked food.Â
